Ready for a fight ...

I think this stunning beetle is Xylotrupes gideon, which is commonly known as the fighting beetle. The are commonly used in gambling (they get males to fight each other) in Northern Thailand and I've seen a few of these at night in Khon Kaen. This big fellow came into my house a few years ago attracted by the light. Amazing thing he was, too. I have seen the female, but haven't yet photographed one.
