Give a 'hoot' about bugs ...

My puns are getting better and better. Honest. Anyway, to the bug in hand. Today, I saw a rather beautiful female owlfly. Like the cicada, it made a beeline - or should that be owlflyline - to my table lamp. I have seen a few owlflies before and initially thought that they were strange-looking dragonflies with enormous antennae. I will add some other photos I have of owlflies I have spotted later. One thing, these CAN bite, surprisingly. It didn't draw blood, but you could clearly see where it had pierced the skin.
Order: Neuroptera (lacewings, owlflies etc.)
Family/genus: Unknown
Vernacular name: Owlfly (specific name unknown)
Scientific name: Unknown
