Roaming free ...

Here are the first two spiders that appeared at my door. I don't think these have webs, except roam the ground hunting for bugs. They both look very similar, but I am not sure if they are the same. The top spider was much smaller than the bottom. Also, the colours are different. It could be male and female, though. Any advice?
